Inadequate Access to Healthcare in Burma Forces Civilians to Seek Medical Attention in Neighboring Thailand

Access to healthcare in Burma should be a fundamental right, however it is not granted for all civilians. This article examines the poor healthcare system that exists in Burma, which has forced many civilians to seek medical treatment in neighboring Thailand. The article goes to discuss the brave work conducted at Mae Tao clinic, a health facility located in Mae Sot, Thailand that provides free medical care for internally displaced persons and migrant workers from Burma.
