Burma Issues produces number of English-language
advocacy materials. These include:
•
BI Weekly
– a weekly summary of news from inside Burma , along Burma 's borders
and from the regional and international community. This summary is produced
using information from Burmese and international media groups. It is
distributed electronically free of charge.
•
Burma Issues Newsletter – is a monthly publication
that enables people from Burma to speak directly to the regional and
international community in their own voices, while also providing
analysis on the situation in Burma . The newsletter acts as a bridge
between the regional and international community and the grassroots
people by regularly features first hand information from and interviews
with villagers inside Burma . The newsletter is distributed freely
via email, and we ask for a small donation for hard copies that are
mailed out.
•
Special Reports – examine specific issues in depth.
These reports are released for advocacy purposes and hope to not only
inform people of the situation, but also inspire them to act. Previous
publications include: Living Ghosts, Shoot on Sight, and From Prison
to Frontline. One report is produced approximately each year. These
reports are available at Burma Issues website and hardcopies can be
provided for a small donation.
•
Videos – these document the ongoing situation in
eastern Burma and uses this raw footage to produce short advocacy
videos. These videos enable regional and international audiences to
see the horrendous living conditions that villagers face with their
own eyes. Other documentary makers and media groups use raw footage
shot by our video team. Our videos can be viewed online at the Burma
Issues website and DVD copies can be sent for a small donation.
